Today the 12 Pambassador finalists arrived in Chengdu. This journey has been some adventure for me… It started when I noticed my computer was still at home, while I was almost at the airport. Thank you very much Judith for getting my computer just on time to Brussels Airport! In Brussels our flight to Amsterdam was delayed. This delay of one hour, gave some stress, because I arrived at Schiphol only 15 minutes before my plain to Chengdu would take off. Together with another passenger who was travelling to Chengdu, I have run from gate B to gate F of the Amsterdam Airport. We had to run for 10 minutes at some high speed, hoping we could catch our Chengdu flight. We arrived at the gate just on time, but we had to choose between staying in Amsterdam or going to Chengdu without our bags… I really couldn’t miss this flight (they offered me another one, a flight that left 4 hours later to Shanghai, it would get me to Chengdu 7 hours after the original one). So, I got on the airplane all sweaty and without my suitcases. I hope to meet my bags in Chengdu as soon as possible. On the airplane I have met 3 Pambassadors, Annelijn from Holland, David from France and Ylenia from Italy. We had a good flight and arrived in Chengdu on 9 o’clock in the morning… In Chengdu representatives of Chengdu Pambassador picked us up and brought us to our hotel. I tried to find some stuff, so I could help myself until my luggage arrives in China! At 16u00 we received some more information about this training week. In the evening there was a dinner with all 12 Pambassadors and the Chengdu Panda Base staff. At 20u00 there will be a welcome ceremony… For this occasion, the whole area around our hotel (a mall) is filled with panda information and a big stage… More info coming soon!
