Xi Lan and Po are really ready now to move to their parents native country China. Both sub-adult pandas will move from their birth place Zoo Atlanta to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on May 12, 2014 like their brother Mei Lan did in 2010. Xi Lan and Po’s last day on exhibit in the U.S.A. will be May 11.

Xi Lan’s name means “Atlanta’s Joy,” and he surely has lived up to it! We have watched him grow into a handsome (and very hungry!) panda. Po seems to be another favorite among Zoo Atlanta’s giant panda family. Her playfulness always excited Zoo guests. It’s bittersweet to see them leave, but we’re more excited to give them the chance to breed with other pandas and one day become panda parents.
