Vote for a name for the San Diego Zoo's baby panda

Everyone is talking about voting these days, including fans of the San Diego Zoo’s pandas. The time has arrived for you to cast your vote for the name of the male giant panda cub, born on July 29, 2012. There are six “candidates” to choose from.

The polls for the cub’s name opened October 23 and will close at 5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Tuesday, October 30.

The results of the voting will be revealed on Tuesday, November 13, at a public naming ceremony at the San Diego Zoo.

The names to choose from are:
* Qi Ji (Qíjī) which means miracle. 奇迹
* Yu Di (Yǔdī) which means raindrop. 雨滴
* Da Hai (Dàhǎi) which means Big Ocean/Big Sea. 大海
* Xiao Liwu (Xiǎo lǐwù) which means Little Gift. 小礼物
* Yong Er (Yǒng er) which means Brave Son. 勇儿
* Shui Long (Shuǐlóng) which means Water Dragon. 水龙
