Royal Zoological Society of Scotland visits Bifengxia

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Chairman of the Board Donald Emslie, animal husbandry manager Darren, director of animal protection education Iain Valentine, as well as China adviser, Mr. Li Zhaoyuan, arrived at the Bifengxia Giant Panda Research Center in Ya’an base .

Base to Tang Hong , deputy director of the Research Center of the guests described in detail the development of more than 20 years history of giant panda breeding scientific research achievements in the field , and center of the earthquake disaster reconstruction.

When introduced to the living habits and the Wolong Giant Panda habitat field when , Donald Emslie said that Scotland is very similar with the Wolong : sparsely populated , are mountain terrain , the forest coverage rate of 70% humidity , annual average temperature 17 degrees Celsius in the winter snow season is longer, an average of 2 to 3 months . After the visit , Donald said : ” Scotland have unique living environment of giant pandas , hoping between relevant high-level energetic efforts of the giant panda research cooperation can the two sides together as soon as possible . ”

May 6 , 7, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland will be in Beijing with the China Wildlife Conservation Association to discuss the details of giant panda research cooperation.
