Madrid, September 7, 2010. Exactly 3 years after the arrival of Bing Xing & Hua Zuiba, twin giant panda cubs were born at Zoo Madrid. Experts from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding were in Spain to help Hua Zuiba and Zoo Madrid’s keepers to take care of the cubs. These 2 male pandas are now almost 3 months old and it was time for me to visit them… In China I had the chance to be very close to pandas of all ages. One of the unforgettable moments was the time at the Sunshine Nursery House with the newborn cubs. I arrived in Madrid in the late afternoon of November 27. I was welcomed by Yuan Bo & Chen Min, the Chengdu Panda Base staff members who are working in Madrid. Cub A was in the incubator and cub B was with Hua Zuiba. I must say it felt extremely great to meet the cubs! Tomorrow I’ll tell you more about the cubs and their keepers… Grtz Pambassador Jeroen Jacobs
