While Tian Tian & Yang Guang moved into quarantine in China, Edinburgh Zoo made an official panda update.

We will be delighted to receive the Giant Pandas whenever the Chinese authorities are ready to give them to us. However we do not have a confirmed arrival date and the decision on when they will travel from China is entirely dependent upon the Chinese government. Excitement over the pandas arrival has been building rapidly, particularly as representatives from Edinburgh Zoo have just returned from China, where they were finalising arrangements. We are looking forward to welcoming Chinese delegates in October when the panda enclosure will receive its final inspection. We would like to assure the public that once the date has been approved we will issue a full announcement.
