Da Mao's first Canadian Birthday

On Sunday, September 1, 2013, Da Mao, Toronto Zoo’s male giant panda, turned 5 years old! To help make Da Mao feel extra special on his first Canadian Birthday many Zoo visitors brought him special homemade birthday cards and were able to participate in a special scavenger hunt to find some of Da Mao’s favorite animal friends, participate in panda arts and crafts, interpretive stations, games, trivia, photo ops, complimentary face painting and more!
The giant panda keepers at the Toronto Zoo made Da Mao a special number five ‘panda pinata’ filled with treats and a 4-tiered birthday cake complete with bamboo candles!
