On June 20, 2014, Zoo Atlanta said farewell to a longtime member of the Zoo Atlanta family. Rebecca Snyder, PhD, Curator of Mammals, will be leaving to join her husband, Dr. Dwight Lawson, in Oklahoma City, where Dr. Lawson recently joined staff as Executive Director.
Rebecca first joined Zoo Atlanta in 1992 as a research student, bringing knowledge from her time at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding studying giant pandas. It was in Chengdu where she studied Bing Bing and Ya Ya, Yang Yang and Lun Lun’s mothers! She’s played an integral role in the success of Zoo Atlanta’s giant panda program.
Thank you and good luck, Rebecca!
