Tai Shan & Mei Lan will leave their birth places on February 4, 2010.
Mei Lan will take the "FedEx Panda Express" at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. They will fly to Washington D.C., where Tai Shan will board the plain at Dulles Airport. They will fly to Chengdu together. In Chengdu Tai Shan will be taken by truck on to the Ya'an Bifengxia Panda Base of CCRCGP. Mei Lan will be going to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Tai Shan
Tai Shan (male) was born on July 9, 2005 at the National Zoo.
He has studbook number 595.
His name means "Peacefull Mountain" in Chinese.
His mother is Mei Xiang (473) and his father is Tian Tian (458).
He is the first surviving panda cub born at the National Zoo.
Tai Shan left his birth town Washington D.C. on February 4, 2010. He moved to his parents native country China, to participate in the giant panda breeding program. He will be living at the Ya'an Bifengxia Base of CCRCGP.

Mei Lan
Mei Lan (female) was born on September 6, 2006 at Zoo Alanta.
She has studbook number 649.
Her name means “Atlanta Beauty” in Chinese.
Her mother is Lun Lun (452) and her father is Yang Yang (461).
She is the first cub to be born at Zoo Atlanta.
Mei Lan left her birth town Atlanta on February 4, 2010. She moved to her parents native country China, to participate in the giant panda breeding program. She will be living at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is holding an online dating contest to find a panda boyfriend for Mei Lan.

Fu Long (male) was born on August 23, 2007 at Tiergarten Schönbrunn.
He left his birth town Vienna on November 18, 2009 in the early morning. He will be living at CCRCGP Bifengxia.
