Chiang Mai Zoo
The Chiang Mai Zoo was established by the The Zoological Park Organization, Thailand in 1974. Situated on 212 acres of verdant forest land at the foothill of Doi Suthep mountain, the zoo is surrounded by hilly terrain which is home to thousands of species of wild plants and flowers adorning the natural landscape of valleys, streams and waterfalls.

Giant pandas move to Thailand
On October 12, 2003 a young couple of giant pandas, Chuang Chuang & Lin Hui, moved to the Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand.
Chuang Chuang
Chuang Chuang (male) was born on August 6, 2000 at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda in Wolong.
He has studbook number 510.
His mother is Bai Xue (418) and his father is Xin Xing (329).
He came to the Chiang Mai Zoo on October 12, 2003 with Lin Hui.
Chuang Chuang is the father of Lin Ping.
Lin Hui
Lin Hui (female) was born on September 28, 2001 at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda in Wolong.
She has studbook number 539.
Her mother is Tang Tang (446) and her father is Pan Pan (308).
She came to the Chiang Mai Zoo on October 12, 2003 with Chuang Chuang.
Lin Hui is the mother of Lin Ping.
Lin Ping
Lin Ping (female) was born on May 27, 2009 at the Chiang Mai Zoo.
Her mother is Lin Hui (539) and her father is Chuang Chuang (510)
She is the first panda cub born in 2009 and the first and only giant panda born in Thailand.
