Adventure World Shirahama is a one million square meter adventure kingdom. It is a combination of an amusement park and a zoo.

Something new: Giant Panda Breeding Loan
Adventure World was the first to get a pair of giant pandas on a long term breeding loan. Ei Mei & You Hin arrived in Nanki-Shirahama on September 6, 1994.
Ei Mei
Ei Mei (male) was born on September 14, 1992 at the Beijing Zoo.
He has studbook number 390.
His mother is Yun Yun (245) and his father is Liang Liang (323).
He moved to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in May 1994.
He came to Adventure World on September 6, 1994 with You Hin.
Ei Mei is the father of Yu Hin, Yu Hin's twin sister, Ryu Hin, Shu Hin, Kou Hin, Kou Hin's twin brother, Ai Hin, Mei Hin, Mei Hin & Ei Hin.
Rau Hin
Rau Hin (female) was born on September 6, 2000 at Adventure World.
She has studbook number 521.
Her mother is Mei Mei (408) and her father is Ha Lan (287).
She is the first cub to be born at Adventure World.
She was the first Japanese born panda to reproduce, when she became the mother of a set of twins on September 13, 2008.
Rau Hin is the mother of Mei Hin & Ei Hin.

Ai Hin (female) & Mei Hin (male) were born on December 23, 2006 at Adventure World.

History of Giant Pandas in Nanki-Shirahama
Short term loan - Qing Qing & Cheng Cheng
From September 19, 1988 until January 10, 1989, 2 young giant pandas, were on display at Adventure World. They came to Shirahama on a short-term loan from the Chengdu Zoo.
Qing Qing (female) was born on September 9, 1984 at the Chengdu Zoo.
She has studbook number 278.
Her mother is Mei Mei (152) and her father is Qiang Qiang (174).
She was loaned to three Japanese Zoos (Okayama, Hakodate, AWS) in 1988 with her sister Cheng Cheng. She came to Adventure World on September 19, 1988.
They left Nanki-Shirahama on January 10, 1989 and moved to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
She was loaned to the Wuhan Zoo from September 28, 2005 until Juli 8, 2007.
She was loaned to the Changsha Zoo on March 24, 2008.
Cheng Cheng (female) was born on September 24, 1985 at the Chengdu Zoo.
She has studbook number 297.
Her mother is Mei Mei (152) and her father is Qiang Qiang (174).
She was loaned to three Japanese Zoos (Okayama, Hakodate, AWS) in 1988 with her sister Qing Qing. She came to Adventure World on September 19, 1988.
They left Nanki-Shirahama on January 10, 1989 and moved to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
She was loaned to the Assiniboine Park Zoo from May 1 until September 17, 1989 with Bing Bing.
They returned to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on September 17, 1989.
She was loaned to the Hangzhou Wild Animal World on November 13, 2004.
You Hin
You Hin (female) was born on September 4, 1992 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
She has studbook number 389.
Her mother is Mei Mei (152) and his father is Yue Yue (343).
She came to Adventure World on September 6, 1994 with Ei Mei.
You Hin died on July 17, 1997.
Mei Mei
Mei Mei (female) was born on August 31, 1994 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
She has studbook number 408.
Her mother is Su Su (312) and her father is Lin Nan (298).
She came to Adventure World on July 7, 2000.
She received an award from the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums and from the Japanese Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for her good parenting skills.
Mei Mei is the mother of Qi Zhen (490), Yuan Yuan (491), Rau Hin, Yu Hin, Yu Hin's twin sister, Ryu Hin, Shu Hin, Kou Hin, Kou Hin's twin brother, Ai Hin & Mei Hin.
Mei Mei died on October 15, 2008.
Yu Hin
Yu Hin (male) was born on December 17, 2001 at Adventure World.
He has studbook number 540.
His mother is Mei Mei (408) and his father is Ei Mei (390).
He is the second cub to be born at Adventure World.
He was the first giant panda born outside of China in the month December.
Yu Hin left his birth town Nanki-Shirahama on June 21, 2004. He moved to his parents native country China, to participate in the giant panda breeding program. He will be living at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

She has studbook number 541.
Her mother is Mei Mei (408) and his father is Ei Mei (390).
She is the third cub to be born at Adventure World.
She died on the same day she was born.
Ryu Hin & Shu Hin
Ryu Hin (male) & Shu Hin (male) were born on September 8, 2003 at Adventure World.
Ryu Hin has studbook number 573.

Their mother is Mei Mei (408) and their father is Ei Mei (390).
They are the fourth and fifth cub to be born at Adventure World.
It is rare that a mother panda has been raising two baby cubs since they were born. Even Chinese giant panda specialists were surprised to see Mei Mei's good skills in raising baby cubs.
Ryu Hin & Shu Hin left their birth town Nanki-Shirahama on October 27, 2007. They moved to his parents native country China, to participate in the giant panda breeding program. They will be living at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Kou Hin
Kou Hin (male) was born on August 23, 2005 at Adventure World.
He has studbook number 614.
His mother is Mei Mei (408) and his father is Ei Mei (390).
He is the sixth cub to be born at Adventure World.
Kou Hin left his birth town Nanki-Shirahama on March 15, 2010. He moved to his parents native country China, to participate in the giant panda breeding program. He will be living at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
